About Thunderbolt Films
Founded in 1996 by writer/director/producer Tim Williams, Thunderbolt Films is a full-service production company that combines creative-concept writing with state-of-the-art film and video production. Tim first followed his passion for making movies when he studied filmmaking at USC Film School. He went on to work in Hollywood on features, television, and commercials. Some of his feature projects include Born on the Fourth of July, JFK, Police Academy 2, Time Stalkers, and Wax Works. In television he has worked on First and Ten, Married with Children, Santa Barbara, as well as over 60 national TV commercials. He’s even done some acting in front of the camera.
After 14 years of working in the movie/TV business, Tim formed Thunderbolt Films to write and produce his own features and documentaries, as well as provide excellent video production service to corporate and commercial clients. He wrote, directed, and produced the football documentary Band of Champions, which Kirk Dooley of the Dallas Morning News described as “a stunning one hour, 13 minute film produced in high-definition, with a production quality on par with NFL Films.” A true road warrior, Tim has worked on four continents, including two tours in Baghdad, Iraq, filming commercials, documentaries, and web videos for Tostitos and the USO. Two of the two-minute commercials he produced as part of the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and the Tostitos BCS Championship half-time show in 2011 won Telly awards. He’s also just finished a new screenplay for his upcoming feature Perfect Will.
Since beginning his career in 1983 in Los Angeles, Tim Williams has directed more than 500 productions in twenty-eight states and twelve countries. With his high-end production equipment and seasoned team of filmmakers, Thunderbolt Films continues to deliver high quality production and service around the globe.
